I'm going to publish my own unofficial multiplayer map. How do I make the readme file viewable through your Map Manager from XIII Patch 1.4?
The following formats of readme file name are accepted by the Map Manager: TYPE_NAME.TXT, TYPE_NAME_README.TXT and NAME.TXT. For example: DM_MyMap.txt, DM_MyMap_Readme.txt or MyMap. The Map Manager is not case sensitive.

How do I repeat chat texts in multiplayer?
Press the [Chat] button and the [Right arrow]. Confirm your message by pressing [Enter].

How do I make a screenshot?
Press [F12] during the game. All your screenshots are stored in the XIII\System directory. The're called Shot????.bmp.

How do I stop the time limit in Sabotage?
There must be at least two players - at least one player in the red team and one player in the blue team. The red player must plant all the bombs and should not be killed by anyone. When the red player plants all the bombs and he can see the 'Match has ended' screen, he must change his team twice.

How do I install a new map?
The additional maps for multiplayer are available at http://theoutlawdad.home.comcast.net/XIII/maps. When you download one, unpack it to a new directory and run the Map Manager (Start > All Programs > Ubisoft > XIII > Map Manager). In the manager, click the 'Install new map...' button and select the unpacked UNR file. Note: The map manager is available in version 1.4 only. The new maps support also requires full installation of XIII.

My XIII hangs at the splash screen! Can you help me?
If you use ZoneAlarm Security Suite, uninstall it. If you use Xfire, uninstall it, run XIII and install Xfire again. Unfortunately, there are still no other ways to fix this error.

I can't install XIII. The installer shows error messages. Can you help me?
Try to copy the content of all the CDs to your hard drive and run the installer from it. Then install the latest game patch.

I can't create a new Ubi.com account in the game. Can you help me?
Use the web interface to create it: https://secure.ubi.com/login/UserInteraction.aspx.

I have bought a legal XIII but the game gives me the following message: <?int?Engine.Errors.CDCopy?>. What should I do?

This is caused by using the unofficial skins pack. Unfortunately, there's no other way to fix it than restoring the original MSL.INI file.

I have an LCD 17"/19" screen. How do I set the 1280×1024 pixels resolution in XIII?
Open the XIII.INI file from your XIII\SYSTEM directory such as C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\XIII\System\XIII.ini and set the following values in the [WinDrv.WindowsClient] section: FullscreenViewportX=1280 and FullscreenViewportY=1024

I'm stuck in the sancturary level. What should I do?

When I create a game server, it's unreachable for other players. How do I fix it?
Make sure you have a public IP address and the 7777 port is not blocked in your firewall. If you have multiple computers connected through a router, open the router settings and enter a NAT rule that enables sending the packets to the computer (enter its local IP address) where your server is created. Contact your Internet service provider for details.

The Play Level feature in the editor doesn't work. How do I fix it?
The problem is probably caused by the XIII multiplayer demo. Uninstall it and everything should be OK.

I use TheOutlawDad's custom map fix. The multiplayer mode is OK but when run the single player mode, the voices, music and some animations don't work. How do I fix it?
Reinstall XIII with the full installation and apply the latest patch from this site. Custom maps and single player will work fine together.

I see a server with Platform 03/SPADS 2/Lost Temple map in the list but when I connect to it, my XIII freezes at the loading screen. Can you help me?
You need the full installation of XIII and at least official patch 1.3 or my patch 1.4 to run these maps.

How do I run XIII in a window instead of fullscreen?
Open the XIII.INI file from your XIII\SYSTEM directory such as C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\XIII\System\XIII.ini and set the following values in the following sections: [WinDrv.WindowsClient] section: StartupFullscreen=False and [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice] section: UseFullscreen=False.

When I connect to a Choland server, I get an error message. Can you help me?
You probably have Czech, Polish or Hungarian version of XIII. The error can be fixed by installing the latest patch from this site.

How do I skip the annoying nVidia and Alienware animations at XIII's startup?
Unfortunately, there's no way to skip them. Get the latest patch from this site to remove them.

I can't install XIII. I have a 64-bit CPU.
Copy the content of all 4 CDs to a new directory on your hard drive. Then run the Setup.exe file from your hard drive. If you have problems with copying the Toits01.hsc and Toits01.hxc files, download them here (Toits01.hsc; Toits01.hxc). When the installation is finished, apply the latest patch from this website (full installation of XIII required).
